Speedfactory Dodge Charger Sets Record With Blazing Quarter-Mile
Date posted: 11-11-2008

REYNOLDS, Georgia — There's a new record for Chrysler fans to admire — or shoot for. Speedfactory's R&D version of the Dodge Charger made a 10.354-second quarter-mile run with a trap speed of 137.39 mph, breaking the record for production LX/LC-platform cars. LX/LC-platform cars include all modern Dodge Chargers, Challengers, Magnums and Chrysler 300Cs.
Thanks to help from Injected Engineering and Vortech, the Charger develops more than 925 horsepower. Modifications include a Vortech centrifugal-style supercharger, 355 gears, a return-style fuel system and 1,000-horsepower half-shafts. The stock transmission, brakes, suspension and interior were all retained.
