Extensively freshened for 2013, the Dodge Ram 1500 offers bold styling with an aggressive "grille-forward" design, interiors with premium materials and innovative features, and big power from a choice of engines, making it ideal for work and play. Ram designers have made the front grille slightly taller, and added a new upper fascia panel, while the classic Ram crosshair horizontal and vertical grille bars are now flush at the top and bottom of the grille surround. An all-new premium headlamp lighting system is a bi-functional halogen projector design with amber turn-signal LEDs. The new front bumper design features new vertically oriented fog lamps and larger openings around the front tow hooks (four-wheel drive models). For 2013, new features and technologies create opportunity for a redesigned interior with material upgrades, improved fit and finish, all-new interior themes with different colors and materials, and new multimedia systems. The 2013 Ram 1500 also features a new 3.6-liter an exclusive eightspeed transmission with a new rotary electronic shift dial design.The Ram 1500 provides something for everyone with the choice of three cab styles (regular, Quad and Crew cabs), three wheelbases, 4x2 or 4x4 drive types, and 3.6-liter V6 or 4.7-liter V8 or 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engines. The new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine offers 305 horsepower (a 42-percent increase), more torque and 20-percent better fuel economy when compared to the previous 3.7-liter V-6 powertrain. The 2013 Ram 1500 uses a newly designed frame with improved, low torsion (stiffness) attributes that increase stability and handling precision while decreasing noise, vibration and harshness. New front independent suspension combines redesigned upper control arms, aluminum lower control arms and retuned geometry with coil springs for improved responsiveness and handling. A multi-link coil spring rear suspension (in place of a traditional leaf spring suspension) improves ride and handling characteristics without sacrificing payload and towing capability. An all-new optional air suspension system, featuring five height settings for optimum ride and aerodynamic performance, includes load-leveling capability that automatically detects load on the suspension from a trailer or payload. Heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, power adjustable pedals, rear parking sensors, and a rear backup camera are available. New Uconnect stereos feature USB connections for electronic device, available 8.4-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, HD radio, and UConnect Access that provides new connected services and applications, a wi-fi hotspot and emergency services. Electronic and infotainment choices include a remote CD player, navigation system, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system. The RamBox cargo management system includes illuminated storage bins built into bed rails and can now be locked (along with the rear tailgate) with the remote key fob. New options include power folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, KeylessGo proximity entry, SmartBeam auto-dimming headlights and a combination power and rear-sliding window with defrost. The Crew Cab will be available with a 6-ft.-4-inch bed.With a revised front end, a powerful new V6 engine and 8-speed transmission, new frame and suspension components, electric steering, available air suspension, innovative new audio systems, and redesigned interiors, combined with an innovative rear coil suspension, RamBox storage system, legendary HEMI power and bold styling, the Ram 1500 provides a wide variety of features that make it a serious contender in the light-duty truck battle for supremacy.
